Pope's covert meeting with Kim Davis was never interpreted as "a subtle intervention"--Sneaky but not Subtle!


This was an inexcusable meddling in United States democracy. No one ever thought it was a "subtle" endorsement of Kim Davis's hateful views and actions. This trip will go down in the history books only as the trip Pope Francis made to meet and bless Kim Davis. Everything else will be forgotten. This will never be forgiven.

VATICAN CITY — Pope Francisencounter with Kim Davis last week in Washington, which was interpreted by many as a subtle intervention in the United States’ same-sex marriage debate, was part of a series of meetings with dozens of guests and did not amount to an endorsement of her views, the Vatican said on Friday.
