My newly found cousin in NC is a cousin of Ava Gardner's---. I had to confess . . .
that I am a cousin of the brutal drunk who slugged Ava Gardner in her then-gorgeous face, never afterwards fully restored. Damn you, George C. Scott. In the South, says cousin Lois, if you are not kin you are connected.
