Last
night Dan Rather and Rachel Maddow were talking about how hard it has
become to get away with lies. Here's a new article on the subject. Now, I
am finding it harder and harder to believe in Ryan's minus-three-hour
marathon. Help thou my unbelief, Ari Melber! This is interesting to me
not just for its political significance but also because in my
forthcoming MELVILLE BIOGRAPHY I write about how the social media has
broken the control over information that the mainstream media formerly
possessed and often misused. You can't get away with lying the way you
used to.
