In Morro Bay through decades of "negotiation" a swamp was made into a rich folk's development just east of the ocean dunes. The buyers all had to promise to keep open to all people a playground on the main road into the development. Unsurprisingly, after a couple of years the residents complained that they were being taxed to support the unworthy. I heard complaints about Mexican children playing on the climbing bars. The development, of course, went some 92% for Making America Great Again in 2016.
One good storm could reinstate the swamp, don't you think? We will have to build a wall around the development, I guess, but what will we do with the mold that began affecting houses from the early years?
