Birthdays--My mother, Martha Izora Costner Parker, and Maurice Sendak

Tomorrow my mother would have been 110. She was born in Oklahoma Territory, the year before statehood.
The next day, Maurice Sendak would have been 87. I know what he would have said over the weekend, listening to the racist bigot con man Republican: "Thank God I'm not long for this world."
That's what he said when I read him what Jack Stillinger said about there not being a creative process.

Now even those born in the 1940s have died off. Henry, Noel, Brian.
