Yesterday I caught a couple of minutes of RED RIVER. One of the cowboys was sitting or squatting with his back to the camera and spoke half a dozen words. What a rush of affection that sound triggered! The best voice of any actor in any Western movie! I just checked. Ben Johnson is not credited in RED RIVER and was hired only as a stunt man.
