John B. (Jack) Tucker was born ABT 1824 in Tennessee, and died 17 JAN 1879. He
was the son of 2. Edward (Ned) Wells Tucker and 3. Margaret (Peggy) Glenn. He married Margaret R. Tucker 24 DEC 1843 in Bear Creek, Carroll County, Arkansas,
daughter of Wyatt Tucker and Elizabeth (Betsy) Glenn. She was born MAR 1823

Ed and Wyatt Tucker were brothers; Margaret and Elizabeth were sisters.
Now, keeping the bloodlines pure is one thing.

Not direct ancestors of anyone I know.
ReplyDeleteSince they are double cousins, they are actually genetically indistinguishable as half-siblings. That is, they share as much similar DNA as if they shared a parent.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I am a huge fan and was delighted to find your blog.
Doll, are you sure it's not worse than you say?
ReplyDeleteAren't both parents carrying about the same DNA? Isn't it as if they shared both parents? They might as well be brother and sister? No?
Let's count their grandparents. No, horrors, no! Let's not.
This is a far cry from my Scots in North Carolina keeping those heroic bloodlines pure.
