On Amazon Prime the show on the Oyler House in Lone Pine--and my memory of Dione Neutra

 

This program enthralled us.

Richard Oyler comes across as almost as remarkable as Richard Neutra

And the Neutra sons are brilliant, as is the later owner, Kelly Lynch.

I could not help remembering how eager Dione Neutra was in the years after her husband's death to get her biographical records into print. I wrote to a great editor I knew at W. W. Norton describing her project. After a bit I received a reply saying (and I don't have it preserved but I remember it), "In New York there is absolutely no interest in Richard Neutra." I had to tell a milder version of this to Dione.  When was this? 1972 or so.
