Where Grandma died--the Tennessee Williams Welcome Center in Columbus, Mississippi

The local historian Rufus Ward says the site of William Cocke's two story cross hall dog trot log house above the Tombigbee River is now occupied by the Tennessee Williams Welcome Center. The Cocke house is where GGGG Grandmother Kezziah Sims Cocke died in 1820, having survived the expulsion from the Sims Settlement and remarried to Cocke, the man who served in 4 state legislatures and was one of the first 2 senators from Tennessee.
