Caretaker made this for my 75th birthday. She happens to be reading FABRIC now.

Some of the squares are from a suit of hers which we remember from USC. Some are from a pair of pants I bought in Delaware. More are from jackets we bought for $5 each at good will (and dry cleaned).

Each piece is from a Harris Tweed garment, hand woven, guaranteed to be from Scottish sheep. The immigrant father of a Revolutionary hero of mine was a weaver, in North Carolina.

When you are very old perhaps you will be cited as the only living authority on East Vanport by VOICES OF VANPORT.

East Vanport was built in 1943 and consisted of 484 housing units, mostly rowhouses. Far smaller than Vanport, East Vanport had its own fire station, laundries, a public library, community halls, and a commercial facility. But, it lacked amenities such as a movie theater and post office that Vanport had. Although the map does not show an elementary school, Hershel Parker recalls walking as a fourth grader from his East Vanport home to a neighborhood school.

So last week Zuckerberg "came to the White House" and kissed Trumps "ass all night". Where was Jill? Where was Joe?

Donald Trump held a rally in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, on Saturday where he appeared to briefly forget that he is no longer in the White House.

The ex-president was sharing an anecdote about Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg when he bizarrely suggested that the Meta CEO had attended a dinner at the White House as his guest “last week”.

"Last week, the weirdo — he’s a weirdo — Mark Zuckerberg came to the White House, kissed my ass all night," said the president

He then went on, mimicking Mr Zuckerberg: "’Sir, I’d love to have dinner, sir. I’d love to have dinner. I’d love to bring my lovely wife.’ All right, Mark, come on in. ‘Sir, you’re number one on Facebook. I’d like to congratulate you.’ Thank you very much, Mark. I appreciate it."

3 Pictures of Sailboats straight down

I passed Senator Johnson's terrific idea on to the Caregiver but she could not be coaxed into finding a part time job. Perhaps I might . . . .

  • GOP Sen. Johnson said that he'd like to "coax" seniors out of retirement to ease the labor shortage.

  • "If they want to get back and earn a few extra bucks, let them start working and don't charge them payroll tax," he said.

  • Johnson has also suggested putting Social Security and Medicare on the chopping block every year.

Republican Sen. Ron Johnson of Wisconsin said in a recent tele-town hall that he's in favor of enticing retirees to jump back into the workforce to help fix a persistent labor shortage.

"There are a number of innovative ideas I would support. Former Sen. Phil Gramm came to the Senate, we were talking about our labor shortage," Johnson said on Wednesday, referring to a past GOP senator from Texas. "One of his suggestions was to coax seniors that could re-enter the workforce — don't charge them payroll tax. They're not paying it anyway. So if they want to get back and earn a few extra bucks, let them start working and don't charge them payroll tax."
