Maurice Sendak has been dead a decade. Oh, how he would have loved the news from the Brooklyn Public Library!
WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE went through a period of suppression before it became a classic.
Now the Brooklyn Public Library says it is the book most often checked out in their system.
We knew him in his last 2 decades. He drew pictures of Melville for both volumes of my biography.
Here is my favorite picture, taken on our deck in Landenburg.
