  1. Dr. Parker,

My name is Andrew Chilton, I am a high school English teacher over in the god-forsaken Bakersfield in love with Melville’s Moby-Dick. I’ve read both volumes of your biography and your third volume Melville Biography. You’re a hell of a writer and I appreciate what you have done for future scholarship and for people suffering from “Melville madness” all over. I’d love to email you some questions about teaching Moby-Dick but I wasn’t sure whether you had an email but I wasn’t sure where to send them. My email is: andrewchilton123@gmail.com. Although I’m originally from the mountains of North Carolina, my wife’s family visits your neck of the woods 2-3 times a year and stays in Cayucos, where we were engaged. We eat at Dorn’s for our anniversary brunch. Truly the most beautiful area on God’s green Earth I know. Would love to hear from you. Thank you again for what you’ve done.

  2. Dr. Parker,

I’m a huge fan of your work. Read both volumes of Melville bio as well as your third volume about Melville biography more generally. I’m an English teacher in Bakersfield and visit your neck of the woods 2-3 times a year and have stayed in Cayucos for 20 years. Would love to send you some questions via email about my ambitious plans to teach Moby-Dick next year, but wasn’t sure what email you check, if at all, these days. I appreciate your time and I just want to give you a sincere thanks for the work you’ve done to advance Melville scholarship: it doesn’t go unnoticed.
