At 78 First Cousin Daniel (a few times removed) wanted to see children in Indiana and Illinois so he got on his horse in Caldwell Co. North Carolina and rode to see them. After the terrible exposure to cold in Illinois and Indiana, it took him 5 weeks to get home, but 2 weeks of that he spent with his brother-in-law Lewis Coffey in Kentucky. (Isaac Chambers=Daniel's nephew, son of Rebekah Moore Chambers.)
I have posted this before but was struck by it again this morning. I have driven over the hills west of Caldwell County . . . .
